  1. Yesterday, when Meg came to our school, I feel that we really acomplished a VAST amount of work. First, we split up into multiple groups and read the short narratives we had DELICATELY chosen. Next, we picked three DISCRIPTIVE words that fit the story, and narrowed it down to one. After that, we had to create four motions that would PORTRAY that word, ours being dramatic. Finally, we ended the class by putting those four motions together into one routine.

    1. I felt the same way Jade, that my group got a lot accomplished that day. We had an entire routine complete within about twenty minutes or so.

  3. First, we got into groups of four we looked at our personal vigilanties. Then we got into a shape that the teacher told us to get in. Then we spun and all of us where in front. Then we did dances to dicribe the music that the taecher was playing. The dance our group did was we danced like egyp people.

  4. Yesterday in school Meg the aie techer came and she had us do some movement things. In the begging it was fun, then towards the end it got wierd. All of us had to the leader of are group. At the end I cant remember what she had us do. But all I can think of was Sammy dancing that was the funiest part of the whole day.

  5. When Meg came to our school for our 3rd Arts in Ed., we began by VENTURING off into our groups of four. We carefully choose the perfect narrative for a DELICATE and SOPHISTICATED dance and/ or movement. Then Meg placed us in a diamond shape with our groups, where one of us was the leader. Next she finally told us what we were doing. She said each song you will turn and someone different will be the leader. The leaders I think had the weirdest job, because they had to make up a movement for the whole group to do. Finally, we had to make up a word that described our movements. The 3rd arts in ed. was the best of all because i finally learned to step outside my comfort zone and have fun.

    1. I agree with Kristyn that it was the best because we stepped out of our comfort zone and it wasn't awkward.

    1. “finger food” is very awkward, spastic, and touchy feely. it is kinda dark and mysterious. title is also weird. in this the dance is trying to symbolize something dark.i think it is a strange type of dance and it is definitely modern dance. wieghtless is even wierder. parts of it looks that it takes alot of effort. i don't really like it at all but it is definetly creative.

  7. Yesterday we had Arts in Education again with Meg and we got to move around, but this time it wasn't as AWKWARD. First we got into 5 groups and we stood in a square. Then Meg told us she would be putting on some music and we would have to do any kind of RANDOM move and our group would follow the leader. At first we were all a little SHY, but as we got more into it, we started to do some FUNKY moves. Then we came up with words and a move to go with them. I liked this Arts in Ed. class a lot becuase we all had fun and by the end we were laughing at our groups CRAZY dance moves.

    2. I agree with Katarina. The second meeting we had for Arts in Ed was not very awkward because we were used to being in front of our classmates from the day before.

  8. In our third arts in ed we separated into groups of four. Then we carefully picked a narrative that we all agreed on.After that we thought of three words that described the narrative.Next we picked one of the words we thought of to make four movements that describe it.Then we had to practice each one to make sure we all new all the movements. At the end of class we put all the movements together to make a routine.

  9. This time when Meg came for arts in ed again, she divided us into groups. Then we TRAILED off to certain areas of the room. We used a narrative for a EERIE type of movement. Then we were in a sorta parallelogram shape in our small groups. Whoever was in the front was the leader I supposed. we had to MOCK the dance he was doing. I feel like its hard to think of a dance. Easier to follow than Lead. When it came my turn,I realized how terrible of a dancer I was, but I never ever dance. So what were people going to expect? Well, I thought other than that, It was pretty ZANY to see other people dance, like Sammy

  12. I agree with kristyn that the third arts in Ed. Class was the best because I Alia ha fun. In addition I think everyone was more confident with this past class because not everyone was staring at you when you were doing something. Also I felt more comfortable when all of the groups were doing things at the same time instead of everyone watching you.

  13. I missed most of the most recent Arts in Ed, but in the part I was present for, we first chose a vignette, and we would then come up with a dance that represented the emotions in the story.

  15. In arts and education today we first got directions from the teacher. Then we got into our little groups. After that we made up a dance with our movements. We had to be in unison for some of the dance. We basically made up a dance the rest of the class. That's what we did in arts and education.

  16. I disagree with Katarina because, for the time I was there, it still felt really hard to be in front of people.I do like how she used the word FUNKy to describe the movements. I wish I had been there.

  17. At first i felt like we were going to be judged on our performence when Meg first told us that we would be CHOREAGRAPHING a dance to tell the story of our vingette. Then Meg put is in groups and we DECIDED on which vingette we would be telling the story through dance too. Next my group chose a basketball vingette and began to CHOREGRAPH a dance about basketball. After Meg had us chose 3 words to describe our vingette and we chose confident exciting and exhilarating. Next we bagean choreographing a dance for the word confident and me and cailey had no idea what to do so Meg and Ms O'Brien ahd to help us

  18. First my group got together. After we did that we tried to remember what the dance that we made up last week was. When we finally remembered, we picked one emotion that we wanted to dance to. Finally our group chose the word dramatic. After we picked that we showed Meg what the move was and she wanted us to make it HUGE. So she had us lift our arms up as high as we could. Then when they were up high, we jumped. After we had our moves figured out we had to figure out if we wanted to have it unison or if we wanted to all move at separate times. We finally figured it out.

  19. At first i was a little bit nervous about being in groups but then i got over it. We were put into groups, some bigger then others, and we had an assignment to do. In our groups we had to pick one person's narrative to build our dances off of. We had to set the mood for our dances depending on the narritive we chose.

  20. First, Katarina, Kalee Hennig, Katie and myself got into out group. Then, we chose which vignette we would use to choreograph our dance. We were going to use Kalee's but it was very EMOTIONAL. So we decided to use Katarina's vignette because it was AUDACIOUS. After that, we had to think of a word that describes Katarina's vignette. So, we chose the word dangerous. Finally, we had to come up with and share a movement we thought described dangerous.

  21. First, we were put into groups. I was in a group of three, but two people weren't there so I was put in a different group. After that, we had to chose which vingette we wanted to choreograph. We chose Jessica Carusso's. Next, we had to chose three words that best describe the vingette. Then we chose one of those words to make a dance to. My group's dance came out really cool.

    1. I agree when you say that the dances came out cool, because I was surprised that my group would even be able to come up with any routine at all!

  22. this arts in ed was the best in my opinion because everyone was more comfortable and was kind of away from everyone else in the class so it wasnt like everyone was watching your every move. first we were put into groups of 4 but we only had 3 so sarah joined our groupo then we decide to use jessicas vinnete in the word we picked to describe it was proude so we did like a superman movement for it i think t cam out cool.

  23. In arts in ed we split up in to multiple groups. My group was Allyson, Paige,Josh and I. We chose to use my personal vinette mainly because no one else wanted to read theirs. Then we had to find an emotion to descripe the literature. Then we had to turn that into a dance move that we could do in unison. It was actually kind of fun once we got out of our seats to start moving around.

  24. First, in arts in ed we split up into groups. Second, we picked a vinette (mine). Third, we then picked 3 unique words that described the paragraph my groups was Gross, Scary, and Dramatic. Fourth, we made movements that matched the unique words. Fifth, she asked us to combine the movements into a dance routine. Finally, we presented our dance routine's to the class.

  25. In arts in education we had to choose a vignette in our groups and then find an emotion that descried the writing. After that, we had to take the emotion and make a dance with the emotion. I didn't feel awkward at all, it was very fun to get up out of our seats and goof around with our friends.

  26. REDO: First we had to pick a paragraph from one person in the groups vignette project ours was AMUSEING. Then we had to get into groups of four we didn’t get to choose our groups and I thought that was CRUEL. After we were in our groups we had to pick four words that described the paragraph. I thought that was very ATYPICAL i was thinking why do we have to think of words if were dancing. In my group our words were suspenseful, dramatic, and scary I thought those words were COMMENDABLE. The last thing we did before class ended was make a move that we thought went with one of the words we GATHERED.

  29. Yesterday in arts and education we didn't do much. First we read are personal vignettes to the people in are groups. second we chose the FOREMOST vignette. Then we decided who was going to do what in the dance. After that are group got into a square and the person in front BOOGIED to the music however they wanted to. We had to do exactly what the person in the front was doing.

  32. First we had to pick a paragraph from someone in the groups vignette project my groups was INTERESTING. Then we had to get into groups of four we didn’t get to choose our group that was UNFAIR in my opinion .After we got in our groups we had to choose four words that described the paragraph. I thought that was very ABNORMAL was thinking why do we need words if we’re dancing.
In my group our word was exciting. I thought those words were COMMENDABLE. The last thing we did before class ended was choose a move that went with one of the words we ACCUMULATED.

  33. yeaterday in arts in ed we had to describe our paragragh vinnette that we chose. My group chose FRIGHTNING for our paragraph. So my group made a really HORRIBLE dance in my opiniun. All we do is make circles with our hand, thats not very fun.

  34. Arts in Ed. Blog Post 2-

Today in arts and ed we began EXPERIMENTING with our personal vignettes and connecting them to movements. First we we ASSIGNED by Meg to get into groups of three or four. Second we went on to the net-books and looked at our personal vignettes projects. Next we picked one of the writing pieces (which was Austyn’s) and prepared for the next set of instructions. Lastly we read the writing piece and created a simple movement that we all DEEMED fit for the SECTION of LITERATURE. I personally thought this was one of the best arts and ed lessons because we were able to keep the groups more private and SECLUDED and practice the movement freely.
